Carlos Mureithi is a journalist based in Nairobi, Kenya. He is the East Africa editor at the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, a global network of investigative journalists, where he reports and coordinates investigations from the region. Mureithi was previously the East Africa correspondent at Quartz, also based in Nairobi. He has covered topics including business, economics, markets, finance, technology, human rights, the environment, culture and the arts. His work has also been published by Reuters, Al Jazeera, the Daily Nation and The New York Times, among other outlets. Mureithi has a BA in journalism from the United States International University in Kenya and a master’s from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism in the US, where he was a Mastercard Foundation scholar.
